just landed.

RIP Davy Jones. Here he is in a pretty spectacle filled interpretation of Harry Nilsson.

The song that’s been running in my head for a couple decades / Richard Dreyfuss fronts a rock band. Sort of.

Liberace working in a funeral home, in “The Loved One” from 1965.

Cassavetes on life and love.

What’s What does “The Artist”.

classicajays:

This is the Christmas song from the Season 30 Robert De Niro SNL episode.  During this time, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Kattan and Tracy Morgan were no longer on the show and Horatio Sanz was the only one left to do the song.  He was joined by the muppets who mimicked perfectly how they would move while performing the song.  This also marked the last time the Christmas song was performed on the show.

Another swell number. Happy Feet! by Paul Whiteman and his Rhythm Boys

This song is featured prominently in Gus Van Sant’s “My Own Private Idaho” (his most idiosyncratic and best film in my opinion), and now that I have discovered the source material I think I will listen to it on repeat for a good long while and pretend I am living on a classier planet.
